Title: Zelda Oracles Text Editor [Updated to 1.01] Post by: Lin on July 02, 2010, 06:28:17 AM Updated to 1.01
Well, it's finally here - The long-awaited text editor. Season's compatibility isn't there yet, but shouldn't be too hard to add. Download: http://zeldahacking.ulmb.com/ZOTE.zip At all times, use word references! These help save space and allow you to make a BETTER hack! When you edit existing text, make sure "Auto-Fill References" is OFF, or else the program will write over a ton of existing dialogue. Also, after checking or un-checking "Auto-Fill References", make sure you click the "Go" button again so it's updates properly. Features -A preview box to see what your text will look like -The ability to switch on and off whether or not references are automatically filled -Searching dialogue via uncompressed words -Dictionary dumps that can be re-dumped at any time -Searching dictionary words so you can save space -Auto-compressing (Added in 1.01) (http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/2015/zote5.png) (http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/9987/compress.png) ~Lin Title: Re: Zelda Oracles Text Editor Post by: Lin on July 02, 2010, 12:16:21 PM Oh, I know about the Compile Error when text has <RESUME xx>. This is due to me poorly testing the program as I forgot to add it, so ignore it for now...
Title: Re: Zelda Oracles Text Editor Post by: Klavice on July 04, 2010, 12:16:48 AM Strange. The program doesn't seem to want to search anything for me. I tried typing in ralph to search for Ralph's name to replace it, but to no avail.
Title: Re: Zelda Oracles Text Editor Post by: Lin on July 04, 2010, 12:23:45 AM It will not pick up any words you find in the dictionary. Search unique words, like Grave for the level 1 dungeon name.
Title: Re: Zelda Oracles Text Editor Post by: jintrigger on October 07, 2010, 07:41:08 AM This isn't very user friendly...I tried to use it and screwed up the game up quite a bit. I'm sure it's only because its an early release (right!)

I'm sure it's only because its an early release (right!) It's a very simple program to use, although I guess it could be improved upon slightly, I can't understand what there is to complain about. Just take the time to find your text, rather then relying on a search engine. I'm sure it's only because its an early release (right!) Nope, sorry. It probably won't get updated, so you're gonna have to learn how to use it. It's quite powerful if you know what you're doing.Title: Re: Zelda Oracles Text Editor Post by: jintrigger on October 15, 2010, 07:48:48 AM Someone should do a guide/tutorial or something...Everytime I try to change something on a text it makes my game all glitchy.

Title: Re: Zelda Oracles Text Editor Post by: Lin on April 26, 2011, 11:21:44 PM A new version has been released! This one includes automatic compressing, which will compress the greatest way possible. This means you get to type freely and have ZOTE compress text for you! :D The download link is the same.

How do you make Yes or No questions and responses to Yes or No questions? Title: Re: Zelda Oracles Text Editor [Updated to 1.01] Post by: Lin on July 07, 2011, 04:54:57 AM Input tags. Other than that I really don't know.
