Oracles Hacking / Opinions and Experiments / Just a little something.

I don't think I ever actually showed this here, but I know I've shown this on the IRC numerous times. Um... yeah, so I got some sudden motivation to use ZOLE 4 to continue my first dungeon. Here's a screenshot of the current overworld, I worked hard on it. Yeah there's perspective errors here and there but I will get to them later. The overworld is split into four islands, obviously you start on that island shown; Link starts at the bottom left house. There's a town, a mountain and the first dungeon. The concept of portals in this game is to not transport you to the future, but rather, a "dark" or "shadow" world where you need to certain stuff to activate stuff in the REAL world. Think of Metroid Prime 2 Dark Aether and Light Aether puzzles. (The chest near the house at the bottom is only for beta testing purposes only, it will be removed if I decide to release a demo or the full hack.)

I really like the idea of what you have, but the idea sounds really hard to implement. Oh well, lets see what you end up with.
Also to show images on this site, you need to take a snapshot of the game with the emulator. (If you have VBA, just press file > take snapshot) Then you need to make a photobucket account and upload your images there. After, you need to direct link the image to this site using that icon that says "Insert image" which is above your post. (Second icon, second row.)

Oracles Hacking / Lists / Rock/Bush/Tree/Gravestone List

So I decided to make a list after Lin suggesting that it would benefit the community in doing so. In ZOLE, there's 5 rocks, 6 bushes, two trees and three gravestones. You might be wondering if there is a difference between each object. Well, there is, one rock has a portal under it, another has a gasha spot under it, etc. Here's a list to serve as a reminder as which object is which.
Reading left to right.
Bush 1: Normal. Bush 2: Stairs. Bush 3: Gasha spot. Bush 4: Normal (Again??). Bush 5: Portal spot. Bush 6: Hole.
Rock 1: Normal. Rock 2: Stairs. Rock 3: Gasha spot. Rock 4: Normal (Again??). Rock 5: Portal spot.
Tree 1: Normal. Tree 2: Stairs.
Gravestone 1 (One at the very top): Not pushable. Gravestone 2 (First on the left, near the bottom): Pushable, reveals nothing. Gravestone 3 (Second on the left, near the bottom): Pushable, reveals stairs.
Yeah, I think that's about it.

Heh, its fine, we all make mistakes. :001_tongue: EDIT: It seems I have a new problem on my hands. I've got the chest nearly working but there's a slight problem with it. What I have is, you open the chest, and you get 50 rupees, that's good. However, if you leave the screen and re-enter it, the chest is closed again and you can open it for more rupees. Leave the screen again and the same thing continuously happens. Why is this? Also, what does ticking Map First box do? AFAIK, it makes the chest give one rupee rather than what I set it to carry... EDIT2: Crap... I think I stumbled over a bad problem... The trees have green lava tiles... I have no idea what I did. Help? EDIT3: Fixed.

I've got another question... when I want to swap a chest from a map to my map, it won't let me swap.
The situation is, I want the chest to be on map 58, and I want to swap with the map 6D (This is all on the past overworld btw). Unfortunately, the chest editor doesn't recognize 6D for some strange reason. What is going on? :confused1:

Hi Lin, firstly, I'd like to thank you for making this editor. I've always wanted to edit OOA/OOS and now I can, thank you.
Secondly, I have a question to ask. Where are the maps for indoor houses? I cannot seem to find them at all... and what is with the yellow boxes in the unmapped areas?
EDIT: How does one add sprites such as NPC's? Also, how does one make a warp work exactly? I want to be able to make Link enter those cave entrance tiles and enter the cave...
