16  Oracles Hacking / Lists / Changing Seed Trees on: June 01, 2013, 12:54:19 AM
I was just wondering if it's possible to change an Ember Seed mystical tree into a Pegasus Seed mystical tree and how you'd go about doing that. I looked around in the tutorials and help boards but found no such topic or anything related to this.
17  Oracles Hacking / Projects / Re: The Legend of Zelda: Return to Koholint on: May 31, 2013, 06:43:05 AM
I've been lurking these forums and came across this project. It certainly looks promising judging from the maps you have there and that story looks really good.

What program did you use to make the maps? ZOLE or a different program? They look surprisingly like official Nintendo maps.
18  General GameBoy Hacking / General GameBoy Talk / Minish Cap Tool Editor on: January 01, 2012, 03:10:28 AM
Seeing as how Minish Cap functions similar to the original Zelda games... I thought it would be appropriate if there was a Minish Cap tool for level editing and stuff.

There's a code for it but I'd like a tool to use said code to modify areas in the game. Because of the code, I don't think it would be too much of a hassle.
19  Oracles Hacking / Projects / Re: Zelda Oracle of Nature (By Me and Fatories) - Demo Released on: July 23, 2011, 10:01:13 PM
Well, I hate to save state abuse, but having bad memories of game hacks in the past which were a little overkill with difficulty (Kaizo Mario World, I'm looking at you) I'll probably use Save States to ensure everything goes smoothly.

It's not that I'm a terrible Zelda player or anything. I've played nearly every Zelda game up to date minus the CDi games and Spirit Tracks and have beaten most of them. (Not 100%, I could never find all the rings in Ages/Seasons or the Heart Pieces in Majora's Mask)

I never really consider using save states to be "cheap" or "cheating". Especially when it's a tough boss fight or level.

Looks great! I'm looking forward to having another new hack to play.

One question: Are you planning on changing the final boss from Veran to Ganon or someone else?
21  Other / General Discussion / Re: Zelda Ocarina of Time hack- Hardcore Temple of Time on: July 07, 2011, 09:19:12 PM
Heh, this reminds me of a hack I did back in 2008.

I changed everything in Kakariko Village to be Floormasters and Wallmasters.
22  General GameBoy Hacking / General GameBoy Talk / Goron Dance Guide on: July 07, 2011, 04:28:04 PM
You've probably played through Oracle of Ages very well only to reach an impass at a certain minigame om Rolling Ridge: The Goron Dance.

Since I first got this game, I've been struggling with that part of the game every time it came up.

Never fear! I've created a guide to help you win this somewhat annoying minigame.

Section I. How to Play

The first thing you might want to know is how to play this game? Well, it's very simple. You use the B button also known as Doo and the A button also known as Da. The Goron Dance Master, (which is the Graceful Goron in the past), will dance a set pattern. The goal is to imitate him. That's all there is to it.

Section II. Dance Master Complaints

This is the section for all the complaints the Dance Master will give to you. Listen carefully, as these will inprove your dancing skills.

"Too Late! You're off tempo!": Also known as "too slow". This simply means you need to pick up the pace with your button pressing. If he says this, go a little faster.

"That was too early!": You pressed a button before the chime/buzzer/whistle or you missed a pause. If he says this, you need to wait in between dance segments or wait for the opening sound.

"Wrong Move": Pretty obvious. You pressed the wrong button or you missed a pause. If he says this, try copying his pattern a little slower unless you got "Too Late! You're off tempo!".

Section III: Pauses

You prpbably heard me saying pauses. That's because the Dance Master will, infact, pause. A good indication on when he's pausing is if he turns and faces you for a split second. You must also pause at that time. Pauses can range from 1 second to 5 seconds. During Platinum, there are a lot more pauses.

Section IV: Patterns

Here are some of the patterns I have come across while playing the different dance modes. For the Mermaid Key or Brother's Emblem, the Dance Master may use any of these patterns, though I've never seen him use a Platinum pattern before.

Platinum (past):

Doo Doo Doo Da (pause for two seconds), Doo Doo Da

Doo Doo Doo (pause) Doo Doo Doo (pause) Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Da Da

Doo Doo Doo Da (pause Doo  Da

Doo Da Da (pause) Doo Doo Da

Do (pause) Doo Da Da

Do (pause) Do Do (pause) Do Do Da

Do Da (pause) Do Da (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Doo Da Doo Da Da (no pause in this one)

Silver (past):

Doo Da Doo Da Doo Doo Da (no pauses in this one)

Doo Doo (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Doo Da (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Doo Da Doo Da Doo (no pauses)

Gold (past):

Doo Doo Doo (pause) Doo Doo Doo (pause) Doo Doo Da Doo Doo Da

Doo Da Doo (pause) Doo Da Doo Da

Doo (pause) Doo Da (pause) Doo Da Doo Da

Doo Da Doo (pause) Doo Da Doo Da

Doo Doo Doo Da (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Doo Doo (pause) Doo Da Doo

Doo Doo Doo Da Da

Doo Doo (pause) Doo Da Doo

Bronze (present):

Doo (pause) Doo Doo (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Doo Da

(Slowly) Do Do Da

(Slowly) Do Da

Doo Doo Da Doo Da

Doo Da Da

Doo Da (pause) Doo Da

Doo Da Doo Da Doo Doo Da

Silver (Present):

Doo Doo Da (pause) Doo Da Doo

Doo (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Doo Doo (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Doo Doo Da Doo Doo Da

Doo Da Da Doo Da

Doo Doo Da (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Da Doo Da Doo Doo Da

Gold (present):

Doo Da (pause) Doo Da (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Da Do Doo Da Do Da

Doo (pause) Doo Da (pause) Doo Da Doo Da

Doo Doo Da (pause) Doo Da Da

Doo Doo Doo (pause) Doo Da Doo

Doo Doo Doo Da (pause) Doo Doo Da

Doo Doo Doo (pause) Doo Doo Doo (pause) Doo Doo Doo Da Doo Doo Da

Whew, that was long! Oh, and he'll occasionally mix in patterns from
a lower difficulty.

Section V: Closing and Tips

If you are still having trouble, make sure to heed all pf the complaints, and repeat the pattern to yourself. Also, a little practice goes a long way.

I'll probably update this with more tips and/or patterns.
23  Oracles Hacking / Help / Trying to insert a Bomb Giving Tokay on: July 07, 2011, 04:15:07 AM
So I feel like messing around with ZOSE and I've got my script ready, but it gives me an error message saying Error Compiling.

Here's the script:

Code:
writelocation FEBE
setinteraction72 FE
showtext BE96
giveitem 03 1

What am I doing wrong?
24  Oracles Hacking / Tools / Re: Zelda Oracles Text Editor [Updated to 1.01] on: July 07, 2011, 04:01:10 AM
Bump.

How do you make Yes or No questions and responses to Yes or No questions?
25  Oracles Hacking / Help / Compiling Original Scripts on the Overworld on: July 05, 2011, 10:40:17 PM
Hey guys, I wanted to compile and edit some of the scripts from the overworld, but I don't know how.

It just says Dungeon ID and the usual options when I want to compile something, and I have no idea how it works.

Could someone give me a hand?
26  Oracles Hacking / Opinions and Experiments / Ages Expanded, a future hack by Klavice on: July 02, 2011, 08:32:34 PM
I plan on changing up Ages to make it so it acts automatically as a Linked Game.

The secret givers will appear regardless of whether you enter a password or not and will give you different things. Instead of the Ghini giving you the secret for the mini game in Holodrum's Graveyard, he'll give you a gasha seed instead.

This hack's purpose is to be able to obtain all 64 rings in one file, challenge Ganon, and improve boss difficulty.

The story might be a little changed too. I plan on basing some of the plot on the manga, which you can read at Mangafox.

If someone can make me a script for Ralph to follow you or other characters, that would really help.

It would be even better if I could insert Raven as a custom boss, but that's unlikely.

Planned Boss Improvements:

Pumpkinhead: Roc's Ring will be required, or at least recommended, because the floor will be cracked.

Head Thwomp: The Switch Hook will be used to swap between ladders and probably to reach the top.

Shadow Hag: Wizzrobes will be added.

Eyesoar: Lava around the sides of the room. Be careful not to fall in.

Smog: More block puzzles. Maybe more than three mini-clouds if I can do it.

Octogen: Bari's will be underwater and Tektikes above the water.

Veran (Nayru): A mixture of Eyesoar and Pumpkinhead. Cracked floor, and lava.

Giant Bari (I can't remember his name): Underwater quicksand to move you around, like in the fight with Manhandala in Seasons.

Ramrock: Arrow shooting cannons on both sides.

Veran (Ambi): Floormasters added

Veran (Fairy): Wallmasters and Dark Links make a terrible combination.

Veran (Final): Nothing to improve here.

Twinrova and Ganon: Whisps in Twinrova fight and Ganon probably won't be improved.

This will probably be very difficult, especially for the story, but I'm certain using ZOLE Live, it's possible.
27  General GameBoy Hacking / General GameBoy Talk / Least Favorite Area/Dungeon/etc in Ages on: July 02, 2011, 07:26:38 PM
We all love Oracle of Ages, but there were certain parts in the original game that got to us.

Me? Crescent Island. Ugh, I could never stand getting all my items taken away and having to reclaim them.

Also, the Goron Dance was annoying.

"Too late! You're off tempo!"
28  Oracles Hacking / ZOLE / Re: Any New Plans In Store for Zole? on: June 23, 2011, 10:33:51 PM
Another useful feature would be the ability to import tilesets.

Sure, you can use TLP, but it's tedious to use extensively.
29  Oracles Hacking / Ideas / Ideas, I need ideas! on: June 20, 2011, 10:03:15 PM
*sigh*

I feel in the mood for making a hack but I'm fresh out of ideas for dungeons.

If someone could give me some ideas, that'd be great.

The one in the first post is outdated. The walrus is still there.

Someone should update the link.
