61  Other / General Discussion / I wanna be the guy on: July 03, 2010, 05:24:48 AM
Has anyone played/watched this incredible, but hard as hell game?

If not, I'll give you the run-down.

I wanna be the guy is basically a game where you play as a young boy named The Kid and your goal is to become The Guy. Now EVERYTHING is out to kill you including falling cherries, the moon, and even Link himself. One hit is instant death, but you can continue from where you left off if you hit a save point.

So far, legitimately I am up to the Koopa Clown Car fight which is passed the Mega Man stage and haven't got passed Wily yet.

62  Oracles Hacking / Projects / Re: Zelda Oracle of Ages Kaizo Edition on: July 03, 2010, 05:21:35 AM
Well it won't be THAT devilish. I've seen ProtonJon do Kaizo as well.

But it was designed to be like that. Like I wanna be the guy for example.

Basically an extremely hard version of the Oracle of Ages. Based off of Kaizo Mario World, this proves to be a difficult challenge for our favourite blond haired swordmaster.

Major changes will be:

1. No heart containers after a boss is defeated and there will be enemies supporting the boss as well as various traps in the boss room.

EG: Pumpkinhead will have several Wallmasters and spike traps in addition to itself.

2. No Heart Pieces. At all. Meaning you are stuck with the three heart containers (or four if you are playing a Linked Game) you start with.

3. Items will be more expensive (I'll need some help with changing the shop prices and items that you can buy there) and rupees will not appear in chests.

EG: Magic Potions at Syrup's House will now cost 600 rupees.

4. Updated Dungeons with stronger enemies like Lynels. The Black Tower will have you face all the bosses from the previous dungeons

More might be added soon enough.

But considering that I'm not too good with a Hex Editor, perhaps someone could give me a guide to removing the Heart Containers from Bosses and
changing Shop inventory.
64  Other / General Discussion / Re: Zelda II Hacking Tool for Windows? on: July 03, 2010, 03:38:38 AM
Tried both and it just exited out of the program. I'm using Vista and it looks like compatability mode won't work with DOS programs.

You wouldn't happen to know any Mac to PC conversion software that is freeware, would you?
65  Other / General Discussion / Re: Zelda II Hacking Tool for Windows? on: July 03, 2010, 02:15:45 AM
Well would it be possible for someone to port the DOS and Mac tools to Windows? I know nothing about porting tools but it'd be real helpful.
66  Other / General Discussion / Zelda II Hacking Tool for Windows? on: July 01, 2010, 08:09:48 AM
I've always wanted to modify this game but all the tools seem to be for DOS or Mac.

Perhaps someone could undertake the task of making a Zelda II editor for Windows?

Proboards is probably a more error-free board than SMF. It's got more features too.

Perhaps with a little tinkering, you could allow Subrosians to appear in different areas of Labyranna.

This is just me, but Jigglysaint could probably unearth something from that.

What does it mean by XY (sorry if this sounds dumb)?

Is it X times the Y??
70  Oracles Hacking / Help / Re: Chest issues on: June 29, 2010, 04:47:34 AM
It just gave me one rupee. Nothing else.
71  Oracles Hacking / Help / Chest issues on: June 29, 2010, 04:18:47 AM
I think I figured out why it wouldn't give me the sword when I edited it. I edited a non-weapons chest and it didn't seem to want to work. I followed the steps in the tutorial and still... nothing.z
72  Oracles Hacking / Tools / Re: Zelda Oracles Chest Reader and Fixer on: June 29, 2010, 03:47:16 AM
Is it impossible to swap data with a chest and use the original data to lead to an item? And I was kinda wondering if you could change item containing chests to a weapon containing chest.
73  Oracles Hacking / Help / Importing Levels? on: June 29, 2010, 03:25:36 AM
I know seasons compatability isn't 100% yet, but would it be possible to import an area like Spool Swamp from Seasons and have it as a bonus area or something in ages? Or vice versa?
74  Oracles Hacking / Tools / Re: Zelda Oracles Chest Reader and Fixer on: June 28, 2010, 11:28:19 PM
I followed the tutorial and instead got a green rupee instead of a sword. What happened?

Oh and what's the values for the ring box?
75  Oracles Hacking / Tools / Re: Zelda Oracles Chest Reader and Fixer on: June 28, 2010, 10:21:52 PM
Does the tutorial work for chests that do not contain a weapon? And is it possible if you delete all the maps to have the chest data from before?
