HAHA! Dude, I am LIKING IT! awesome job, keep up the good work. I like the color template used and with the landscape and the water gives it the crisp, night time feel. Awesome! So this is the second dungeon in your hack? What item do you get in the first dungeon?

Other / General Discussion / Game Maker anyone?

Does anyone else like to fool around with Game Maker? Well, since I'm basically an epic fail at zole because I seem to misplace warps and/or crash my own game... here's MY project and don't expect it to be a huge impressive amazingly super awesome game because it sucks but I enjoyed making it... and unlike many other games, I actually FINISHED this one! (and just so everyone's clear on pronounciation, its: Dih-Jih-Tal-Iss) http://uppit.com/pyypp0ma8wtn/Digitalis.exe

Well the dungeons all depend on what the game's appearance is. If the game's appearance is similar to an Oracles than your dungeons have to look simple roomed and more of a track like appearance where the same room is not revisited TOO often. Or you could give it your own look where you try something that has not been seen in an oracles game. That would be for you to invent so I can't tell you too much. :001_tongue: If you take this approach, try not to make the rooms on the same floor without switching map floors. Take the initiative to have a lot of up and down using stairways and such. Its all up to you. I personally like my dungeons to be excessively complex but not having to revisit the same room a billion times just to turn the stupid turntable to get to the final boss. Either way... I look forward to your hack, even if you don't find success in the storyline programming or the interactions or anything. I like your idea, and the map pics you posted so far.

I think your maps are AWESOME! You do give it a nice change but keeping the Zelda touch to it. I know some of the things are hard to make because tiles don't always like to go next to eachother so it looks really squared off... like the bridge with holes in it, but you do a fantastic job and I look forward to playing your game!

Oracles Hacking / Help / Re: warps

Now I'm no ZOLE genious but let me know if this works. When you go to the screen where your two warps are, click the edit warp then hit search if no warps appeared. Then click Next Warp (or something along those lines) and there might just be another warp in the room but you have to click that button to access it. :/ I don't know if it will work, but its a suggestion.

Oracles Hacking / Help / Inactive Doors in Dungeons
|
on: July 10, 2010, 05:11:42 AM
|
I've found that even when I enter the Level 1 dungeon through the correct warp, the doors to the rooms connecting to the first one are closed. I can reach the enterance room with no problem. When I then proceed right, the door in the room "25" is closed, therefore locking Link in a tile and not letting him do anything. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? :confused1:

Oracles Hacking / Projects / A Small Adventure
|
on: July 09, 2010, 08:14:56 PM
|
I'm not a successful re-creator of any Zelda game... So if anyone is interested in a small little adventure to keep you entertained while you complete your hack, let me know. I'm currently working on a small adventure in which the game starts out similar to Ages but then takes a huge turn around and you become instantly immersed in battle. It will be finished in a matter of days but play time will be guarenteed under an hour. Not many weapons will be involved but keep a sharp eye out for secrets. Let me know if you are interested.

Just an FYI, you should post it under "Lists." Admin might be disturbed by things like this coming under the discussion board.

Hahaha, its no problem dude. I've made the same mistake several times. Normal math is different from Computer programming in small ways, but it throws you off so much. Like normally coordinates have an X values first, then a Y. hahaha

Oracles Hacking / Help / Initial Music
|
on: June 28, 2010, 03:48:36 PM
|
As you begin a new file on Zelda Oracle of Ages, the music is muted until you meet Nayru singing. Does anyone know how to intialize the music without running into all those events? If so, please share your knowledge with me. I'm clueless. I do not to want to have meeting Nayru as part of my hack, but would like the music to start after exiting the starting house.
