106  Oracles Hacking / Discussion / Re: Seasons Hacking... And Important News on: July 08, 2010, 04:32:30 PM
What exactly is the problem with Seasons?  If you mean that on the overworld, between seaons there are some screens that change and others don't, I'm sure there is a way to create an editor that fits within that limitation.  It's true that you won't get the same amount of customization that you can in Ages, but as long as people understand that limitation, there's no reason why they can't at least try.

I suggest then that along with showing the current map number, you also show the map pointer and the bank number so that people can be aware that certain screens are located in certain banks.  It would also be easier to actually change what screens come from what map.  In the end the game will always require lots of supplementry hacking, but as tempting as it is to create somthing user friendly, this game does have a big learning curve that I am always able to help people with.

I do though support making the Ages edtor alot easier to use.  Anyway, if you can think of anything to help with Seasons compatibility, I am always on hand to find data or suggest things.  Remember that I started hacking with Seasons.

Side warps are broken.
108  General GameBoy Hacking / General GameBoy Talk / Re: What's your favorite GameBoy game? on: July 07, 2010, 01:24:32 AM
Not going to say anything.  The answer should be all too painfully obvious.
109  Oracles Hacking / Projects / Re: Zelda Oracle of Ages Kaizo Edition on: July 03, 2010, 02:17:25 PM
Oh God... I remember watching ProtonJon do a secret level in Kaizo Mario World, and let me just say I'm REALLY not looking forward to this hack...

Anyways, I'll look into them. Honestly, it's going to be really easy finding shop prices. Removing the heart containers might be kinda hard though.

Not at all.  In fact you could replace the heart containers with somthing like a 5 rupee reward or somthing.  HC's that spawn after the boss are events like anything else and can easily be modified.

To fix problem:  Stop loading the file in multiple programs at once.

Hold on, if it's the flag I showed you, didn't I say that it controls alot of other flags?
112  Oracles Hacking / Help / Re: Switch Blocks? on: July 02, 2010, 01:03:30 AM
That's actually true that the crystal switches don't work in areas other than 5, 8, and the Hero's Cave.  BRB, take me 5 seconds to find the data.
113  Oracles Hacking / Lists / Re: Enemy List (Full List) on: June 30, 2010, 12:08:18 AM
You know, I found it odd that in Ages, there are a few banks that contain multiple instances of the same sequence of data.  My theory is that Seasons, which was originally supposed to be a LOZ remake, was retooled into Seasons, then the engine was used to create Ages.
114  Oracles Hacking / Discussion / Re: Mixed Stuff on: June 29, 2010, 11:58:46 PM
It gets better.  I messed with Seasons and found out that the Mermaid Suit's sprite is in Seasons.  Furthermore, the format used for the dive warps you see in Level 6 and 7 and underwater is used for the trampolines in Seasons.

The presence of the Roc's cape sprite in Ages means that it should be possible to code the Roc's cape in Ages,  The roc's feather would need a place for it's level byte, since it doesn't have one by default.

Edit:  Rosa's sprite is in Ages because she appears during a linked game, same as the Subroians who discover the goron dancing game.

Oh yeah I kind of already knew the weapon data was in bank 06, but good to know.
116  Oracles Hacking / Discussion / Re: Chests and Buttons, Interaction Type 9... on: June 29, 2010, 11:51:49 PM
Okay, 20 XX leads to a script that gets the event based on what dungeon map you are on, and what index.  For example, 20 00 in level 1 is used for chests spawned by switches, but in level two, it's the Roc's Feather.  Each dungeon has a list of events that are used.  It actually doesn't make much sense since why not just have one global script list, but this game has chosen to load via dungeon number.  I believe the pointer to the event in bank 0C that deals with level 1's chest switch is at 20C52.

Now 21 xx is used for tile puzzles, and depending on the index, it loads an ASM script that sets the tiles and it's trigger.  Note that ASM scripts can incoporate event scripts, and event scripts can point to ASM scripts(but only in bank 15).

Also, F8 09 is used for switches.  For the second byte, the lower nybble is used for switch index(0, 1, etc), and bit 7 means the switch is a toggle switch, but the event must be set to aknowlege it's a toggle or else it will just continue to spawn that event.

I think the bee thing is what's summoned when Veran is in her bee form.
118  Oracles Hacking / Help / Re: Importing Levels? on: June 29, 2010, 03:34:55 AM
You can't with the overworld, but I have a youtube video that shows that not only can you import Seasons dungeons, but you can make it so you can switch between the two sets by wearing the GBA Time Ring.  Not using Zole though.

Now you could copy and paste and then fix the rooms up yourself so they look right.  Of course since there is no seasons support yet, you could also just draw from memory, or from a map.
119  Oracles Hacking / Help / Re: Maple on: June 29, 2010, 01:02:01 AM
No.  As far as I am aware, Maple is not an interaction, but an event coded seperatly.  At 44EC6 is a pointer to the graphics used for Maple's items.  Somebody else can figure out the format and where the item properties are, but it's pretty much going to be in that area.  It's also worth noting that in Seasons, the data is there, but one whole bank lower.
120  Oracles Hacking / Help / Re: Maple on: June 29, 2010, 12:16:26 AM
At B732 is the list of bits that determine if Maple shows up or not.  One byte equals 8 rooms.  Oddly enough, there are 3 region entries for maple, and 4 are defined as bitmasks.  Also above there somewhere is Maple's appearance ASM.  41C6 is Maple's kill counter.
