Why not just acquire all the flutes, then you can switch them through the pause menu.... but that IS a wonderful idea. Cheesy Dont ask me how to accomplish it though... I'm clueless. Tongue

I don't think the game will actually allow you to do this because of the designated few screens where depending on the animal you chose, changes. I'm pretty sure that even when you obtain another flute it just changes your other flute, not totally sure though.

All a gameshark code does is change one value in a memory bank/address into another, so in the end you're going to have to write a value to the flute address. The only problem is, it's going to be hell to write. The dialogue code is all over the place so it's kind of gonna be really hard. However, you can do something easier like making the flute obtainable in a chest  and modify the chest loading code. You'd do something like checking the first chest value, and if it's xx, don't actually give you a weapon, but just modify the flute you have. Though, it'd be kind of hard when messing with dialogues, but you can place a check on those too. I don't know, but it should be more than possible.

Smiley Great, all I need to know for now is that its possible, thanks for your help.

First of all there probably is multiple ways of doing this but game shark codes are the first thing I thought of.

What I want to know is if it would be possible for me to have an object (not sure what yet) that when the character presses the talk  button, it will change his animal flute. I know this is possible through game shark.

So I'm just wondering, is it possible to make an event in oracle of ages/seasons that once it happens it activates a gameshark code?

Yeah that sounds cool, and to be honest I never even heard of Oracle of Hours until now.

First of all this is more of a hack for Seasons rather then ages, but its just an idea so tell me what you think.

The one thing I never liked about the oracle games was that you never used the animals. Other then the one time save the carpenter thing, you never actually needed them, so they were useless. So my idea for a hack is to change that and make lots of puzzles that involve all 3 animals.

In the original game you are introduced all 3 animals before having to choose a flute. I'm hoping that I can somehow have you keep encountering the animals more then once, rather then getting one forever. Eventually you would get a choice, and depending on which animal you choose, it would make the game have puzzles harder to solve or easier.

This would be hard to do with ages because I'm pretty sure you can't use the animals in the past, but for seasons you can use them all the time which, in my opinion, could make a great hack.

As for story line, I haven't really thought of anything. So tell me if you think this could end up being a good hack or if you think I should wait until a seasons editor is made.

Let me start off by saying that the maps look good, although I'm not sure if I like the idea of going between day and night because wouldn't that mean your just travelling on the same maps but in a darker setting? At least thats what I think of when you mean day and night.
Also just my opinion, but don't you think it would be more fun (I guess you could call it that) if you made the player have to do something in order to get the sword rather then just walk outside and open a chest?

Seriously though, so far it looks really good, and I'd definitely play it.

Thank you so much, and it doesn't look to difficult especially since you included the ASM script Smiley
Its a shame that theres no text editor yet, but I'm sure somebody will get around to making one eventually. Besides its not stopping anyone from making a good hack.
218  Oracles Hacking / Lists / Re: Music List (Ages) on: June 27, 2010, 01:09:13 AM
After seeing this list, I presume there is a map music changer built in with the editor? Because that would be very helpful, and good.

That'd be awesome, and a great help because I've been thinking up a plan for a hack I'm going to make and I don't want the ember seeds to be gotten first. I'm also not the best with codes and scripts so unless it is obvious on how to change, I probably wouldn't figure it out.

Well, to end all this, I made a chest give the seed satchel "level 2". What it actually is is receiving it from the island thing (Tokyo?), so rather than being an upgrade it's just how you receive it.

Lol, so much for me having to figure this out on my own XD

When I am talking "level", I mean the second byte in the group, not the second index for the actual item.  That is, I found the value that gives you the seeds when you talk to the Maku Tree, then I changed it's second value and at 02, it gave me the capacity for 99 seeds(plus 20 ember seeds, but that must be code related).

Oh and I also found the sprite pointers.

Dang that ruins my hopes for having the player get a different type of seed to start off with rather then ember seeds.

I'm confused when you say upgrade because when you get the seed satchel you start off with ember seeds. Would upgrading it to level 1 make it so you have both ember and mystery seeds? (thats the second seed you get)

So say I wanted a chest with the seed satchel like in your YouTube video, I would just use the ID 1900? Also what would happen if I made the seed satchel level 2 or 3?
