46  Oracles Hacking / Ideas / Re: No Zelda... but Trecenta Terra! on: July 05, 2012, 09:27:48 PM
It's actually not a bad idea. It's easy enough to make a game around that story and I could see it working in the end.

It sounds to me like you aren't loading your ROM
48  General GameBoy Hacking / Projects / Re: LALE - The new Link's Awakening Level Editor on: June 30, 2012, 06:29:47 PM
When will it be released?

When I have added all core editing features required to make a full (yet simple) LA hack I will release it.
49  General GameBoy Hacking / Projects / LALE - The new Link's Awakening Level Editor on: June 22, 2012, 03:58:18 AM

Topic Locked as there is now a LALE category. Any information in this post is now out of date, please go to the LALE board to view the latest information on this project.

Welcome gentlemen/ladies to a project I've been working on for a decent amount of time. After about a year of not actually working on it until a week or two ago, I am finally able to say I am happy with LALE and what I have created to the point where I believe it is ready for a public release. As of right now I do not know if I will continue to update it with features; however, I will fix any bugs that are found with the program.

LALE or Link's Awakening Level Editor (very original name) is a user friendly editor I have been working on. It is very easy to use and everything is loaded 100% from the ROM making it a proper editor.
It is stated in the readme file, but I will state it in this post as well:
Quote
The Link's Awakening Level Editor (LALE) is an editor created by Fatories and is designed to edit a "Legend of Zelda, The - Link's Awakening DX (U) (V1.2) [C][!]" ROM. The editor is based around this version of the game and using any other ROM could and most likely will result in many errors.
Please make sure you use this version of the game when using my editor otherwise and reports of bugs will be inaccurate.

I would like to thank Lin because without him this editor would not have been made because he was the one who so kindly helped me learn Gameboy Assembly and provided some information on Link's Awakening so I could create an editor for it.

Enough talk about the editor, how about you see it in action and judge for yourself. If you have any suggestions please feel free to tell me.

A link to the most recent video I have made of LALE:  (this video is out of date with the actual release, but it doesn't really matter)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3xef_s3efU

If the video is too long and you hate me for some reason then here are some screen shots:

Current features:
 - Map editing including map data
 - Text editor
 - Chest editor
 - Warp editor
 - Minimap editor
 - Enemy/object placement
 - Initial start position editor
 - Sign pointer editor
 - Owl statue editor

I will provide updates as I add new features to the editor.

50  The Site / Announcements / Re: Seasons Support on: June 16, 2012, 06:46:15 PM
This question has perhaps been asked before, but I'll ask it anyway. I know some graphics of stuff in season also exist in the ages ROM( Saw some post that a long time ago) and was wondering if one can make it so that one can use for example the lvl2 boomerang in ages?

Its always a possibility but you won't be able to do it by relying only on ZOLE. For something like that you would need to do an assembly transplant from seasons to ages.
51  Oracles Hacking / Tools / ZOIC - Zelda Oracles Item Changer on: May 19, 2012, 11:07:04 PM
Greetings citizens, today I come to publish the second tool I have made for Oracles hacking and that is the Zelda Oracles Item Changer or ZOIC for short. This program allows the user to change how an item is obtained (in a chest, side view room, etc) as well as an items graphics upon obtaining and after as well as the text that shows on screen when an item is gotten.

ZOIC works with both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.
The bytes for an item to go in a chest or side view room are 0x38 and 0x0A.

52  The Site / Announcements / Re: Happy Late Birthday, ZOLE 4! on: May 11, 2012, 03:18:59 AM
I'd sing Happy Birthday but it is copy-written so I will just wish it a late happy birthday.
53  Oracles Hacking / Tools / Initial Seed Changer on: May 10, 2012, 06:39:10 AM
As the title suggests, this is a tool I programmed in C# that allows the user to edit what seeds are initially gotten via the seed satchel. Lin made a tutorial way back in the day (http://zeldahacking.ulmb.com/index.php?topic=14.0) explaining how to do this through hex editing. He said he would make a tool but he is just a big doo-doo head and didn't actually make a tool. So here I am today making the tool instead. Enjoy.

A very simple program to use, simply:

1. Click the "Load ROM" button and select an Oracle of Ages ROM. (Make sure before hand you have gone into ZOLE and have removed beginning locks (patch in patches menu) otherwise you'll just get a message telling you to do so).

2. Select which seed you want the seed satchel to start with via the drop down box.

3. Click the "Change seed" button to save your changes.

We need more information to even begin to help you. Saying that something is wrong doesn't help whatsoever when combating a problem. Unless you provide any information the only thing I can suggest is tracing your steps and undoing whatever you may have done to your hack.
55  Oracles Hacking / Tools / Re: ZOSE - Zelda Oracles Script Editor on: March 22, 2012, 09:03:24 PM
How do you use this script?
Do you put it in ZOSE?

What script? If you mean any code that's shown in this specific thread then you don't use any of it because its all outdated and/or incorrect. Go to the ZOSE forum for example scripts and tutorials on how to use the program.

Just to add on to Lin's hefty paragraph, I would like everyone to know that I will still be moderating the forums and making sure that spam gets removed. Oracle hacking has always been fluctuating in how popular it is and I believe that even though the progress has stopped for good, people will still continue to hack in the future. Since the forums here contain so much information regarding Oracle hacking I will to it that people can still access the documents.
59  Oracles Hacking / Tutorials / Re: How to Make Maps Swap With Underwater Maps (Like Symmetry Village) on: January 10, 2012, 03:06:29 AM
This is fantastic, I just got it to work on a map of mine.  I was just wondering, is there any way I can trigger the change from another map?
Yes there is. Rather than doing a setroomflag comand you could do a setmemory C7xx if the map is in the present overworld. I believe C8xx is for the past overworld. C9xx is for dungeons at least ones in the real map group 04.

xx is the map value and for further information C7, C8 and C9 are where the roomflags are stored in the memory
60  Oracles Hacking / Tutorials / Re: Make Your Own (Ghetto) Chests... on: January 10, 2012, 01:50:01 AM
Yeah this is one way to get around the lack of chests in in a dungeon. On the overworld though there is the 30 chest patch that automatically applies when you open your rom with zole. Basically what it does is it adds 30 chest datas onto map 0 of the present, past, underwater and past underwater map groups allowing you to just take a chest form map 0 onto whatever map you are using. In dungeons however this can't be used so this tutorial can come in handy.

Something you brought to my attention with this tutorial is actually the memory address CC99. I had been looking for an address like that for quite some time so thanks for that.
